Contextual information As with the whole cycle of the epigrams in this manuscript, each verse of the epigram is followed by a paraphrase: 'Ἑρμηνεία. Οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι τοῦ ματθαίου τοῦ τελώνου τοῦ ἀρήστως πονήσαντος, etc.' (Hajdú (2012:271)) Τhe first part of the title refers to all 4 epigrams on the evangelists. The epigram is followed by 3 epigrams, each on one of the remaining evangelists.
