This book epigram occurs in two manuscripts. Aschenbrenner & Kubina (2022: 1140): "As shown with regard to the textual history of Appian, they both derive from the same (lost) exemplar. It is not unlikely that this manuscript was the copy that Eugenikos dedicated to John VIII, which contained the book epigram on the first page and Appian’s History (at least parts of it), copied by Eugenikos himself." |
