"Ἐγεγόνει τὸ παρὸν θεῖον καὶ ἱερὸν τετραεὐάγγελον [sic] | διὰ συνεργεί(ας) πόθου καὶ ἐξόδου τοῦ εὐγενῆ καὶ ἐν- | τίμου ἀνδρὸς, κυρ(οῦ) Νικολάου τοῦ Λαρδέα. | γραφὲν δὲ καὶ παρ’ ἐμοὶ τοῦ εὐτελοῦς καὶ ἀβρω- | τίμου πάντων μερόπων καὶ χωρικοῦ γραφέ(ως). | Θεοδώρου τοῦ Κοτζᾶ· ἐκ χώρας Μεθώνης. | τελειωθὲν ἐν ἔτει συστάσεως κόσμου, | ͵ϛϡλη΄ ἰνδ(ικτίωνος) ηʹ· | ἀπὸ δὲ τῆς ἐνσάρκου οἰκονομί(ας), ͵αυλʹ· | κ(α)τ(ὰ) μὴν, μαΐῳ | λαʹ. | ψσασ βξσν, εϟβ ϛλμθ εϟω | ψλχω θϟσν θξβν [= τῷ Θ(ε)ῷ ἡμῶν εἴη δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰών(ας) ἀμήν]."
Translation: "This divine and sacred tetraevangelion was completed through collaboration and because of desire and expense of the noble and honored man, kyr Nikolaos of Lardea. [This book] was copied by me, [most] worthless and flawed among all good people, a villager, scribe Theodoros Kotzas from the region of Methoni. [The book] was finished in the year 6938 from the Creation of the World, in the eighth indiction; from the year of the Incarnation [of Christ], [in the year] 1430. Glory to God forever. Amen."
