Palaeographical information	Written in red ink, in alexandrinische Auszeichnungsmajuskel. The script is an imitation of an eleventh century script.
Contextual information	The epigram is written in the left margin, next to an image of the heavenly ladder accompanying the table of contents of the Scala Paradisi. It is the first in a series of two epigrams
