	τέλος κλίμακο(ς) οὐ(ρα)νοδρόμου βίβλου:
	ἐφ’ ἧς ἀπὸ τρέχουσι(ν) οἱ ψυχοκτόνοι:
	ἐφ’ ἣν ἐπιτρέχουσιν οἱ σαρκοκτόνοι:
	ἐφ’ ἧς καταβαίνουσιν οἱ νοοκτόνοι:∙
	ἐφ’ ἣν ἀναβαίνουσι οἱ παθοκτόνοι:
	βροτοὶ μὲν οὗτοι τὸ πλέον δὲ καὶ νόες·
	ἀπὸ ξύσαντες τῆς λεβηρίδος πάχο(ς):
	ὀπῆς στενῆς ἔσωθεν ὡς γῆρας ὄφις·
	καινοὶ φανέντες (καὶ) κενοὶ κενοῦ βίου:
	καινοὶ κατασταθέντες ὡς ἐπηρμ(έν)οι:
	ἥνπερ δίδου σαῖς λιταῖς ἰωάννη·
	ὁ τήνδ’ ἐγείρας ὡς λίθοις στερροῖς λόγ(οις):
	ο τήνδε πήξας ἄγαν εὐτεχνετάστως
	μοναχὸν ἰάκωβον ἀναβαίν(ειν) ὡς γράφ(εις)·

Comment	Turyn (1980: 30): "Verses 11 and 14 are metrically faulty". The epigram has only 14 vv., in spite of its marginal note στίχοι ις (sixteen verses). The first verse of this poem, lacking its last word, is written by a later hand in a sloppy way on the last folio, f. 377r.
