Tag(s)
Translation(s) Amasis was bearable, as he devoted to serious issues
one third of the short time of the day,
since those who ruled excessively as tyrants among us
paid attention all night and all day long
to amusements or to drunkenness,
living a life enslaved to passion.
Because of them, the beauty of the new Rome
was suddenly affected by a wrinkle of old age
and the capital superior to all
became the abode of hostile robbers.
