Τὸ δεύτερον φέριστε τῆς τοῦ κυρίου,
Εὐαγγελιστὴς σαρκικῆς παρουσίας,
Γραφεύς τε πιστὸς τῶν ἀληθῆ θαυμάτων,
Αὐτοῦ πέφηνας (καὶ) τρίβους σωτηρίας,
Πολλοὺς ὁδηγῶν πρὸς θεὸν σεσωσμένους,
Διὸ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὡς ἔχων παρρησίαν,
Ματθαῖε κλεινὲ τῶν ἀποστόλων γέρας,
Τὸν τήνδε σου τεύξαντα τὴν βίβλον πόθω,
