Even though this epigram and type 1862 (cf. related types) have an almost identical text, we created two separate types, because "the two types have a different textual transmission as well as a different function within the manuscripts" (De Groot (2021: 64)).

The epigram also occurs in the 17th-century manuscript Vat. Urb. gr. 5 (f. 15r).

John Scottus Eriugena (9th c.) made a Latin translation of this book epigram, which accompanies his translation of the Corpus Dionysiacum in several manuscripts (cf. De Groot (2021: 341)).
