Ἠλλοιωμένος ὅλος ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου
πέφηνας, πάτερ, παμμάκαρ Ἰωάννη.
Ὅθεν ἐξύφανας ἡμῖν ἱστὸν θεογνωσίας
δι’ οὗ πᾶς τις τέμνετε καρδίαν
καὶ πρόσω βαίνει τῆς ἧσπερ ἐκέκτητο ἀχλύος,
φωταυγούμενος σαῖς δᾳδουχίαις
εἰς ἔφεσιν γλυκίου παραδείσου πάνπαν,
οὗπερ πολίτης λῃστὴς νῦν ὑπάρχει
σὺν σοί, φέριστε, καὶ χωρείας ἁγίων πάντων,
ὧν ταῖς πρεσβείαις σωθείημεν πάντες.
