| Translation(s) |
Verses on Saint Luke Formerly, you were a healer of bodies only, with the help of the books of Galen and Hippocrates. But after that, as a pupil of the Word, you have shown yourself a very wise healer of many souls. As an Evangelist you have spoken, by divine inspiration, of the great depths of the marvels of His bodily presence among us. Since you have now, deservedly, a strong freedom of speech with Him, divinely thinking Luke, may you, with your entreaties, save the man who has, with faith and good intentions, produced this wise book containing your words and may you bring his life to a good end. |
