Comment | The epigram was written in 1213 as one of the colophons of a now lost manuscript copied in Messina. The copyist of the Messina manuscript is Simeon Bulkaramu. The text is preserved in a 16th-century copy of that manuscript, namely Vat. gr. 1426 (for chronological reasons not included in DBBE). The text source of this record is Mercati (1935: 68), who prints only the last part of a longer epigram. |
