ταῦτα γέγραφα πάντα τῇ προθυμίᾳ
καὶ τῇ θελήσει τοῦ πάνυ σοφωτάτου,
θεοῦ θέλοντος, μάνδρας ἀκροτηρίου
μονῆς τιμίας ὄντος ἀρχιμανδρίτου
θεοπροβλήτου Λουκᾶ παναοιδίμου,
δούλου θεϊκοῦ καὶ λίαν φιλοπόνου,
εἰς δόξαν αὐτῆς πρισυπερφώτου μόνης
θείας τριάδος ἐν τρισὶ ταῖς οὐσίαις,
αἰτῶν ἀμοιβὴν ψυχικὴν σωτηρίαν
λιταῖς ὁσίου Διονυσίου φίλοι.
Ταύτην δ᾽ ἐτερμάτωσα τὴν θείαν βίβλον
ἐγὼ πολίτης ἀμαθής περεγρῖνος,
πάντας ἀπαιτῶν τοὺς βλέποντας ἐνθάδε
εὐχὴν ἀγαθὴν τῷ λίαν ἐπταικότι,
ἔνων τρεχόντων ἑξάκις χιλιάδων
ἑπτακοσίων, εἰκάδος δ᾽ ἑνὸς πρόσω,
πρώτης ἰνδίχθου, μηνὸς αὐγούστου δύο.

Comment The epigram was written in 1213 as one of the colophons of a now lost manuscript copied in Messina. The copyist of the Messina manuscript is Simeon Bulkaramu. The text is preserved in a 16th-century copy of that manuscript, namely Vat. gr. 1426 (for chronological reasons not included in DBBE).

The text source of this record is Mercati (1935: 68), who prints only the last part of a longer epigram.
