	Ἀλλ’ ὦ Θεοῦ δώρημα πᾶσιν ἐν βίῳ,
	ἐξαίρετον δὲ τοῖς μονάζουσι κλέος,
	Θεόδωρε τρισμέγιστε πατέρων πάτερ,
	διδασκάλων τε πρῶτε τοῖς ὑφ'ἠλίῳ,
	δέχνυσ' Ἰωάννοιο τοῖσγε τὸν πόθον
	γράψαντα πίστει τούσδε τοὺς βραχεῖς στίχους.

Comment	Lauxtermann (2003: 355): 'John the Stoudite wrote this dedicatory epigram to accompany another epigram of his, inc. Ναυκρατίου μεγάλου, 6 vv. (ed. AUVRAY, p. LXVI), which he had written in honour of Naukratios. In other words, this is an epigram on an epigram'.
