	Πύλῃ προσελθὼν πτωχὸς ἵστατο κράζων,
	καὶ ἡ πύλη ἔφη πρὸς τὸν πάροντα:
	ἄνθρωπε τί στῇς ἀνηλεῶς καὶ κράζεις·
	εἰ μὲν φίλος πέφυκας εἴσελθε χαίρων,
	εἰ δ' ἐχθρὸς καὶ βάσκανος καὶ γέμων δόλου,
	πόρρω πόρρω πέφευγε τὴν πύλην τῆς εἰσόδου.
