Person(s)
Scribe
Basileios Botaneiates (13th c.)
Palaeographical information The main text of the codex was transcribed in the 9th-10th c. The epigram was added by a 13th-century (?) user of the manuscript (whose name, Basileios, is mentioned in three other epigrams present on the same page; one of these epigrams, Occurrence 28657, reveals his full name as Basileios Botaneiates).

Written in two columns, to be read horizontally.

The script appears to be under the influence of the Fettaugenmode. Heart-shaped betas are especially conspicuous. As the epigram is located in the end of the page, the size of the handwriting is smaller than in two epigrams the same hand wrote on the same page above (Occurrences 28656 and 28660).
Contextual information The epigram is copied in a blank verso, while the recto of the same spread contains the beginning of John Chrysostom's In Ioannem. The epigram appears among other short texts added by the same and by other three-four hands (prayers; beginning of a hymn; a paraphrase of the beginning of Chrysostom's text starting in the next page). The epigram is written directly after another one by the same hand (Occurrence 28660) and begins in the second half of the line whose first half is occupied by epigram 28660. The epigram is followed by the short epigram Occurrence 28657, written in the same script, using letters of the same size, that serves as a subscription.
