Palaeographical information The epigram is written by a later, contemporary hand in two columns, to be read horizontally. The first letter is written in red ink.
Contextual information The epigram is written under a miniature of Manuel II Palaiologos. A second epigram can be found above this miniature. In the left-hand margin there is a sample text in prose of Manuel himself, that served as inspiration for the poet.
