Palaeographical information The epigram is written in dark ink, distinct from the lighter brown ink in which the main text is written.
Contextual information The verses occur in the margin of Constantinus Manasses' Compendium chronicum. They are preceded by the poem inc. ἐκ τ(ῆς) ἄγαν μου τῶν φρεν(ῶν) ἐλαφρί(ας) and followed by the poem inc. ὄλβιά σοι τὰ πρῶτα· τὰ δ' αὖ μέσα φεῦ ὀδυνηρά.
