Τοὺς δὲ νόμους ἐχάραξε Θεὸς δέκα ἔν ποτε πλαξὶ
Λαϊνέαις· σὺ δέ μοι ἔγγραφε τῇ κραδίῃ.
Οὐ γνώσῃ Θεὸν ἄλλον, ἐπεὶ σέβας οἶον ἑνός γε.
Οὐ στήσεις ἴνδαλμα κενὸν, καὶ ἄπνοον εἰκώ.
Οὔ ποτε μαψιδίως μνήσῃ μεγάλοιο Θεοῖο.
Σάββατα πάντα φύλασσε μετάρσια καὶ σκιόεντα.
Ὄλβιος, ἢν τοκέεσσι φέρῃς χάριν, ἣν ἐπέοικε.
Φεύγειν ἀνδροφόνον παλάμης ἄγος, ἀλλοτρίης τε
Εὐνῆς, κλεπτοσύνην τε κακόφρονα, μαρτυρίαν τε
Ψευδῆ, ἀλλοτρίων τε πόθον, σπινθῆρα μόροιο.
