Ἐν τῷ ῥέοντι καὶ ταχυδρόμῳ χρόνῳ
εὑρὼν ὁδηγοὺς ἠθικούς σου τοὺς λόγους,
γράψας ἐθέλχθην ἡδονῇ διδαγμάτων.
Ἐν τῷ μένοντι καὶ σεσωσμένῳ, πάτερ,
ὅταν λάβῃς ἔπαθλα καὶ πόνων γέρα,
εὕροιμι προστάτην σε καὶ θείαν σκέπην.

Comment In ms. Jerusalem, Patriarchike Bibliothêke, Hagiou Saba 96, this poem forms the first part of a strange diptych. This poem is a traditional scribal epigram in praise of Basil of Caesarea, whereas the following poem begins a polemic against the writing of such (scribal) poems.

Note the structure of the poem, which is composed of two parts of three verses with typical Byzantine parallel structures.
