Contextual information | It is followed by another epigram inc. 'κἀγὼ στιχιστὰ πρὸς θ(εὸ)ν γόνυ κλίνων'. The first poem is a traditional scribal epigram in praise of Basil of Caesarea, whereas this second poem begins a polemic against the writing of such (scribal) poems - or at least against this particular poem. |
