Comment | In some manuscripts, between vv. 5-6, there is an additional verse with the name of the scribe. The verse runs as follows: 'ὁ σὸς (name), ἔσχατος μονοτρόπων' (cfr. Istanbul, Oikoumenikon Patriarcheion, Patriarchikon Skeuofulakion, 3, ff. 131v-132r and London, British Library, Egerton, 2783, ff. 164r-165v). Vv. 11 and 14 are holospondaic, i.e. composed entirely of spondaic ( ¯ ¯) feet. This is outlined explicitly by marginal notes in Paris, BnF, gr. 219, f. 3v: ὁλοσπόνδ(ειος). For more context see Lauxtermann (2019: 270) and Wescher (1864: 351-52). |
