Ἐγὼ μέν εἰμι σὸς φύλαξ, στεφηφόρε,
ὡς ἔγνως αὐτὸς πραγμάτων τὰς ἐκβάσεις·
ὁ δʹ αὖ γε ῥήσεις καὶ χρυσοῦν φέρων στόμα
ὁ συγγραφεὺς ἔστηκεν εἰς δυσωπίαν
αἰτῶν σὺν ἡμῖν γραφέως τοῦ σοῦ χάριν
ὃν εὐμενῶς βλέποις τε καὶ τρέφοις, ἄναξ.
