Comment	The poem belongs to a cycle of epigrams for the evangelists, together with inc. 'γράψε Θεοῦ σαρκώσιος', inc. 'οὐ κατ᾿ ἐπωνυμίην' en inc. 'ἀρχιερεὺς Ἐφέσοιο'. According to Nelson (1980: 97), these poems cannot be older than 800, because they contain information only found in prefaces, which were not made before 800 (see also Lauxtermann (2003: 358)).
