Palaeographical information Written in the right margin. The scholium is linked by a signe-de-renvoi to the words 'καὶ ὑπὸ τοὺς αὐτοὺς χρόνους τοῦ θέρους τελευτῶντος' in the main text (Thuc. 5.12.1).
Contextual information The epigram is written next to Thucydides' Histories 5.12.1. Luzzatto (1999: 114): "Non si può pensare ad altra spiegazione se non all intenzione di Tzetzes di usare con sottigliezza bizantina la formula tucididea per dare al lettore delle sue note un messaggio simile: le note sui ff. 133v e 183r sono state scritte «nello stesso tempo» ed «alla fine dell’estate», di una estate costantinopolitana, naturalmente, in pieno XII secolo."
