Palaeographical information Written in the right margin. The scholium is preceded by a signe-de-renvoi, which links it to the word 'ἰωνίου' in the main text (Thuc. 2.97.5), which was corrected into 'ἰονίου' supra lineam by an earlier corrector.
Contextual information The verse is written next to Thucydides' Histories 2.97.5. Given the syntactic ambiguity of the expression, Tzetzes added two verses immediately below this poem, rephrasing the same message more clearly.
