Comment Wallies (1891, XX) also provides a transcription of the marginal adscript (mg. sin. vv. 1-2): 'εὐχ ÷ ρ στ΄ | πάυ λ ᾶχ', which is interpreted differently in the scholarship.

VGH 377.D suggests that this is an abbreviation of Paulos' last name, Εὐχ(ά)ρ(ι)στ(ος). This interpretation is contested by Mercati, Franchi de' Cavalieri (1923: 357): 'Praestantem hunc codicem diligenter exaravit Paulus quidam monachus, cui perperam fecit nome Εὐχάριστος M. Vogel...' They suggest the following reading: 'Εὐχαριστ(ήριον) Παύλου μοναχοῦ'.

See also RGK III. 538: 'irrtümlich mit dem Familiennamen Eucharistios' in reference to VGH entry.

Moreover, VGH 377.D, footnote 6 refers to Wallies (1891: XX) and erroneously attributes Paulos' subscription to a second hand: '...wo die Unterschrift als von zweiter Hand bezeichnet wird'.
However, in Wallies: 'f. 214v eadem manu subscriptioni haec addita sunt'.
