Comment As Duffy- Angelov (2000: 504-505) state, "there is some uncertainty about the first folium and what exactly it contained. (...) Batiffol is completely silent about it, while Alexoudis expressly states in both versions that it was decorated with a cross bearing an inscription arranged around its top and bottom halves. (...) If we accept the Greek scholar at his word, we are left to conclude that Batiffol did not regard even a somewhat elaborate cross to be a feature worth mentioning. Otherwise the possibility would have to be raised that Alexoudis erroneously included a decoration from some other Gospel book at Berat."
