Palaeographical information This epigram was added by a later hand, whereas the manuscript dates to 1347/1348.
Contextual information The epigram is preceded by one more poem, inc. 'Ἐιπὲ ποῦ ἡ χθὲς ἔβη. ἡ δ᾽ αὔριον ποῦ ἔσται'.
It is followed by a rubricated note in Victor Falconius' hand, which includes a Latin translation of the epigram: 'Iste liber est Victoris falchonij: [obliterated] Nec mutuo ulli amicorum dandus, nisi fidei probate | nec precio quamuis magno alicui vendemus ++++ | Victoris Falchonii metaphrasis In plutarchi statuam:- | Hanc statuam posuere tibi plutarche cheroneu | Tam celebrem nati nobilis ausonie | Graecorum quoniam confers monumenta latinis, | Graecaque romanis inclyta gesta uiris. | Ipse tuam si forte uelis conscribere uitam, | Et similem queras, par tibi nullus erit: + | Anno etatis uigesimo. 1510. mense Junij. (...)'.
