ὃν ἡ τριφεγγὴσ τοῦ θεοῦ πανταρχία
διευκρινοῦσι τοὺς λόγους λεπτῇ θέᾳ·
καὶ τοῦ μεγίστου προδρόμου τοῦ δεσπότου
ὅθεν ψιλοῦντες τὴν βαθύγλωσσον χάριν
καὶ μαρτύρων δὲ τῶν θεοστεφῶν πάλιν,
ὧν εἷσ πέφυκε ψυχικῶσ θησαυρίσασ
ναὶ μὴν γένοιτο χριστὲ σῶτερ παντάναξ

νόων ἁπάντων τοῦ πόλου πυριπνόων

Palaeographical information Written in three columns (column A: vv. 1-8; column B: vv. 9-15: column C: vv. 16-22). Both a horizontal and a vertical (as the text is presented here) reading are meaningless (cf. Meyer & Burckhardt (1960: 133-134).
Contextual information The epigram precedes Philotheos' 'Catena in XII prophetas minores'. It is the first of four introductory texts on ff. 1r-2v.

Comment The text given by Meyer & Burckhardt (1960: 133) has been complemented by some verses from the edition of von Faulhaber (based on the occurrence in Vat. Chig. R. VIII 54), to which Meyer & Burckhardt refer.
