Ὁ ζῶν ἀνέστη· ξένιον τοῦτο ξένον
τὸ σαρκὶ θνητῇ συγκραθῆναι τὸν Λόγον.
τὰ δ’ ἄλλα πάντα συντρέχει παραυτίκα·
νεκροὶ τρέχουσιν οἱ πάλαι σεσηπότες,
χαλκαὶ πύλαι πίπτουσι συντεθλασμέναι·
παγὶς συνετρίβη γὰρ ἡ τοῦ θανάτου
καὶ πάντες ἐρρύσθημεν ἐκ τῶν μνημάτων.
Ποῦ σου τὸ νῖκος καὶ τὸ κέντρον, ὦ δράκον;
ποῦ σου τὰ κλεῖθρα καὶ σιδήριοι πύλαι;
ἀπηνθρακώθης προσβαλὼν τῷ δεσπότῃ.
