| Critical Notes | 4 μήταις] λιταῖς propos. Rocchi (1883: 140): 'Ista epigraphe etiam in fine Cod. habetur, sed notandum μήταις forte pro λιταῖς irrepsisse.' Cf. Turyn (1972: 10-11): 'The word μήταις is the classical poetic word μῆτις changed to the paradigm of the first declension μήτη and used here in the dative plural: "whom through the concern of all the Saints may You save, O Word." <...> A correction λιταῖς suggested by Rocchi is completely superfluous.' |
| Comment | Several poems in this ms. mention different persons who have aided in the realization of this codex: apart from the scribe Iohannes ek Rousion and the sponsor of the ms., Pankratios, are mentioned three other persons: Antonios (hieromonachos), Dios Blasios (ekklesiarches and hierozygos) and Nikodemos. The last verse has a faulty ἱρῶν in stead of ἱερῶν metri causa. |
