	Ἀβράμοιο παῖς γράφεν τήνδε βίβλον ἑῇ χειρὶ,
	ἣ τέρμα εἴληφεν αἰῶνος ἐφ᾽ ἑβδομάτοιο
	ἀριθμοῖο δέοντος ἐτῶν δέκα καὶ ἑκατόν γε,
	λῆξιν λαβεῖν μερόπων ἅπαν φύλον ὂν ἐπὶ γαίης·
	ἣ πυκνὰς ἀμφιδρόμους ἕλικας μαστεύουσα πλανητῶν
	μυθέεται μερόπεσσιν ἀψευδῆ ἔπεα πάντα,
	ἠδὲ καλά τε φαῦλ᾽ ὅσα τοῖσδε πρόκειται πρὸς θεοῖο
	ἀθανάτοιο ἑζομένου εὐρὺν ἐς οὐρανὸν αἰεὶ·
	ἧς ἔπεα μελιηδέα χρυσοῖο πολλοῦ κρείττω
	ὧν τε διὰ μερόπων ποθέοντες κλεινοὶ δείκνυνται.
