Εἰ τοῖς ξένοις ἔνεστι χάριεν μέγα
φυγεῖν ξενίαν καὶ φθᾶσαι τὴν πατρίδα
προσιδέειν δὲ συγγενεῖς αὖ καὶ φίλους
ὁμογνύους τε γείτονας οὓς ηὐτύχουν,
οὔτω χαριέστατον εἴη μοι τέλος
εἰ προσφθάσοιμι τὰς ἀρείονας βίβλους
καὶ τοὺς Ὁμήρου καταφλύξω λόγους
τοὺς νεκταρώδεις καὶ μελιτροποτρόφους.

Translation(s) If it is a great pleasure for travelers
