Contextual information	The epigram is written in the margin of the first verses of another book epigram on the 'Ladder' of John Klimax, inc. 'Ψήγματα χρυσᾶ τοῖς Λυδοῖς αἱρεῖ λόγος'. It is immediately followed by another verse of Christophoros of Mytilene: 'Χαῖρεν Ἰωάννης τριακοστῇ ἐξαναλύων'.
