Palaeographical information	Written in red ink.
Contextual information	The epigram precedes a canon of the monk Meletios on Christ. According to Zervoudaki (2014-2015: 105) the epigram is an epilogue to the preceding canon on the Magi. De Andrés (1965: 333) and Luzzi (2018: 111-112, n. 11) think that it serves as an introduction to the canon that follows: "anzi, a mio parere, a tale epigramma parrebbe essere stata attribuita la funzione di introdurre entrambi i canoni qui inventariati sotto i nrr. [9.] e [10.], cui sono riferiti altri due brevissimi paratesti metrici che mi sembrano strettamente connessi col più articolato epigramma introduttivo premesso al canone [9.]: basandomi su tale constatazione, propongo l’authorship meleziana per gli inni [9.] e [10.], pur in assenza di esplicite attribuzioni di paternità a Melezio nel codice scorialense" (Luzzi (2018: 111-112, n. 11).
