Βρέφος παλαιῶν ἡμερῶν ὁ πρεσβύτης | |
νῦν Συμεὼν γέγηθεν ἠγκαλισμένος. | |
τὸ πῦρ λαβὼν γὰρ λαβίδος τῆς παρθένου | |
ἄφλεκτός ἐστι, λάμπεται φέγγει λέγων· | |
«ἰδοὺ τὸ λύτρον ἦλθε τῆς οἰκουμένης, | |
ἰδοὺ τὸ φῶς ἔλαμψε τοῖς ἐν τῷ σκότει. | |
τοῦτο κραταιὸν τῶν κραταιῶν τὸ βρέφος, | |
καταθλάσσει δὲ καὶ πύλας τοῦ θανάτου | |
καὶ τοὺς ἐν Ἅιδῃ τῶν βρόχων ἐξελκύει.» |
