Τὰ ξύλα φέρουσι καρπόν
τὰ κλίματα τὸν βότρυν
καὶ πᾶσα γῆ τὰ σπέρματα
ἀξίως ἐπιφέρει·
ἐγὼ δὲ ξύλον ἄκαρ πον
τῷ γεωργῷ μου βλύζω
ποτιζει με διηνεκῶς
σκέπει με καθ' ἑκάστην
ἀλλ' ἔρχεται καρπὸν εὑρεῖν
καὶ πάλιν οὐχ εὑρίσκει
καὶ βούλεται ἐκκόψη με
καὶ πάλιν συμπαθεῖ με.
