|Contextual information||The epigram accompanies a miniature of Christ dictating to John Chrysostom the acceptance of the request made by the Theotokos on behalf of John, the patron of the manuscript (cf. the miniature and accompanying epigram on the facing recto folio, f. 457r). The verses are written on the scroll that John Chrysostom holds.|
