Palaeographical information The epigram is written in epigraphische Auszeichnungsmajuskel. To be read top, bottom, left, right.

Sevcenko (1990: 63): 'Within a thin frame stands an illuminated cross, containing the inscription κόσμος πέφυκα τῆς παρούσης πυξίδος + +, written down and across its arms in gold uncials. The cross has subsidiairy crosses, with wide bosses, attached to the ends of three of its arms. The monogram of Christ, IC XC flanks the top bar of the cross, and two flowering trees flank ist base.'

Benesevic (1911: 183) transcribes the first word of the epigram as 'κόσμιος'.
