The epigram accompanies a miniature representing St. John, on f. 213r: "a haloed saint identified as “John ὁ θεολόγος” hands a staff to another haloed figure in monastic dress who is called “the Lord Abbot”. God is represented through a blessing hand reaching out from a segment of heaven" (cf. Krausmüller (2006: 271)). |
