Translation(s) |
By shooting two arrows, as it were, of mystical teachings, towards the gentle Timothy, the revered vessel, Paul, who runs in heaven, draws for us – through Timothy – the redeeming grace. By writing excellent epistles to the bishops and collaborating with them in an apostolic way Paul, the lantern, the Lord’s mouth, organizes the Church most beautifully. More letters are sent to them by the one who is distinguished for his golden tongue in speeches. Paul’s mouth is Chrysostom’s mouth and the latter’s mind is also Paul’s mind, but by means of their mouth, tongue and heart, it is Christ himself who speaks. |
