	Ὁμολογῶ, ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ γράφων Συμεώνις,
	εὑρὼν τὴν βίβλον ταύτην τε, ἣν οὐδέποτε εἶδον,
	ἐν τῷ χωρίῳ τῷ καλῷ, τὸ λεγόμενον Μέστρας,
	ὀρέγωμαι τοῦ γράφειν τε τοὺς βίους τῶν ἁγίων
	τὴν δ᾽ ἀρετὴν ἀπέχομαι πόρρω μακρὰν τῶν ἔργων.
