Ὥσπερ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ Σαοῦλ τὸ συμπνίγον
Δαυὶδ διώκει τῇ βοῇ τῆς κινύρας,
οὕτως γε καὶ νῦν ἡ φάλαγξ τῶν δαιμόνων
τὸ ψαλμικὸν μέλπουσιν ἡμῖν πυκτίον
τῇ σῇ κελεύσει, Χριστέ, πόρρω φευγέτω,
ὅπως δι' αὐτοῦ ὕμνον ἐν μελῳδίαις
σοὶ προσφέρωμεν ὡς θεῷ καθ' ἡμέραν.
