Κἂν σὸς μελιττόγλωττος ἔστη ῥοῦς, πάτερ
τοῦ θανάτου θᾶττόν σε καθηρπακότος,
ἀλλὰ τὸ λεῖπον τῆς ῥοῆς ὑπερχέει,
ὁ γρήγορος νοῦς, ἀπὸ σου καθὰ πάλιν
ἄρδευμα, καὶ γὰρ σῶν ὅδε γλωττισμάτων

Etsi tuum mellitae-linguae steterit flumen in transitu,
morte citius aequo te rapiente,
saltem quod est reliquum fluenti superfunditur,
vigilans mens, ex te sicut denuo
irrigatio, etenim tuorum illa est (i.e. mens) osculorum,
e quibus impleta est, effusione recepta Verbi.
