Comment | In verse one, which is otherwise metrically problematic, γαίης δ' ἐν γυάλοισιν ἔνερθε δὲ πόντος ἀπείρων would be a likely reading. Cf. Moschus, Europa, 133: ἀλλ’ ἀὴρ μὲν ὕπερθεν ἔνερθε δὲ πόντος ἀπείρων. |
