| Comment | "Durch die Empfängnis des Gottessohnes wird Maria selbst über die Himmel erhoben. Der Gedanke wird in der Hymnographie gern ausgesprochen". (Hörandner 1992: 108) This epigram is part of a cycle of epigrams on miniatures of “Herrenfesten und Wunderszenen”. They could have functioned as miniature captions (cf. Hörandner 1992: 113-115), but there is no evidence of paratextuality in the extant manuscripts known to us so far. This cycle of epigrams occurs in the following manuscripts, where they do not function as book epigrams: - Athos, Mone Batopediou 36 (f. 72v-74r) (11th c.) - Venice, Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, gr.
