Εἰς αἰῶνας, Ὅμηρε, καὶ ἐξ αἰῶνος ἀείδῃ
οὐρανίης Μούσης δόξαν ἀειράμενος.
Μῆνιν μὲν γὰρ ἄεισας Ἀχιλλέος, αὐτὰρ Ἀχαιῶν
στρομβηδὸν νηῶν σύγχυσιν ἐν πελάγει
τειρόμενόν τε πλάνῃσιν Ὀδυσσέα ποικιλόβουλον
τοῦ λέχος ἀσπασίως εἴσιδε Πηνελόπη.
