| Comment | The epigram precedes the Commentarius in ss. Petrum et Paulum Apostolos. 'Per Pietro, crocifisso, si ricorda che fu araldo della Croce e quindi si sottolinea implicitamente la somiglianza del supplizio da lui subìto con quello del Maestro; per Paolo la decapitazione (τομή) suggerisce la definizione di 'colui che decapitò l'errore' (τὸν τεμόντα τὴν πλάνην)' (Follieri (1980: II,338)).
