Ἀνὴρ πονηρὸς ὡς οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀνθρώπων,
ἐκ προσενέξεως δὲ τοῦ Σολομῶντος·
ἀνὴρ θαυμαστὸς καὶ ἐλεήμων πάνυ,
φιλόπονος ὁμοῦ καὶ ἀγαθὸς τῷ τρόπῳ·
ὧν ὁ μεν (...) κε τῇ ἐπωνύμῳ
Μηνᾶς ἀναγνώστης καὶ ἁπλοῦς τῷ τρόπῳ,
θάτερα δὲ ἔνι κόλαις χλη(...)ειτε.
Τούτοις εὔχομαι ψυχῆς τε τὴν ὑγείαν,
ὁμοίως καὶ τοῦ σώματος τὴν εὐεξίαν,
κατὰ πάντα δὲ τῆς μελλούσης τρυφῆς τε
τὴν ἀίδιόν τε καὶ τὴν μακαρίαν,
οὐδέποτε ἔχουσαν ποτὲ τὸ τέλος.

Comment The poem concludes a colophon in prose; Papadopoulos-Kerameus (1891: 357): '+ τέλος [εἴ]λ[ηφ]εν ἡ [παρ]οῦσα αὕτη βίβλος ἐξ ἐμοῦ τοῦ ταπεινοῦ καὶ τληπαθοῦς Γαλακτίωνος. Πέφυκε τῇ ἐπωνύμῳ'. It is difficult to pinpoint an exact border between the part in prose and the metrical part of this colophon.
