| Comment | Note the (unintended) metrical character of the title of this poem as a politikos stichos. Moraux (1967: 97): 'p. 538 lesen wir zwei Distichen auf einen Antonios. Nach einer Vermutung von D. Harlfinger ist damit Antonios Pyropulos gemeint. (...) Im Epigramm ist von seinem πυρίπνουν στόμα die Rede, bei der bekannten Vorliebe der Byzantiner für solche Dinge eine mögliche Anspielung auf seinen Namen'. |
