In militiae caelestis principem stantem ante portas et ensem inferentem. Ductor militum qui sunt in altis ex inaccessis caeli orbibus nuper descendens alatus aetherio-cursu, Eden, tanquam templi, servat fores, nudum, eheu! dextra gerens gladium, quasi hoc monstrans aut caedem exitialem illis qui non puri sunt neque citra scopulos. | Comment | The epigram also occurs in the 16th-century manuscript Madrid BNE 4715 (a. 1552, f. 151r) and in manuscript Vind. phil. gr. 150 (14th c., f. IIIr), where it does not function as a book epigram. |
